Fosidal syrup Storage:

active substance: fenspirid;

1 ml of syrup contains 2 mg of fenspiride hydrochloride;

Fosidal syrup Excipients:

methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), potassium sorbate (E 202), glycerin, saccharin sodium (E 945), sucrose, vanilla flavor (contains propylene glycol (E 1520)), yellow flavor measure (E 110), citric acid, monohydrate, purified water.

Clinical characteristics.

Indication.

Ø Treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory processes of the ENT organs and respiratory tract (otitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, rhinopharyngitis, tracheitis, rhinotracheobronchitis, bronchitis), as part of complex therapy of bronchial asthma.

Ø Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and other manifestations of allergies from the respiratory system and ENT organs.

Ø Respiratory manifestations of measles, influenza.

Ø Symptomatic treatment of pertussis.

Contraindication.

Fosidal is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the drug.

Contraindicated in children under 2 years.

Method of application and dosage.

For oral use.

Prescribed to children older than 2 years and adults.

The daily dose should be divided into 2-3 doses and taken before meals.

The recommended daily dose should be based on body weight and age, but should not exceed the recommended daily dose (see below).

Application for children

For children over 2 years of age, the recommended daily dose is 4 mg / kg body weight (2 ml / kg).

If the body weight is less than 10 kg: the daily dose is 2 to 4 teaspoons of syrup (10-20 ml), respectively 20-40 mg of fenspiride hydrochloride per day.

If the body weight is more than 10 kg: the daily dose is from 2 to 4 tablespoons of syrup (30-60 ml), respectively 60-120 mg of fenspiride hydrochloride per day.

Use for adults and children over 12 years

The daily dose of syrup is from 3 to 6 tablespoons (45-90 ml), respectively 90-180 mg of fenspiride hydrochloride per day.

The course of treatment.

The duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease and is determined by the doctor individually.

1 teaspoon of syrup (5 ml) contains 10 mg of fenspiride hydrochloride.

1 tablespoon of syrup (15 ml) contains 30 mg of fenspiride hydrochloride.

Adverse reactions.

Side effects are classified by frequency of occurrence:

– very often: ≥ 1/10; common: ≥ 1/100 to <1/10; uncommon: ≥ 1/1000 to <1/100; rare: ≥ 1 / 10,000 to <1/1000; very rare: <1 / 10,000

Frequency unknown (frequency cannot be determined from available data).

From the circulatory and lymphatic systems.

Rarely – moderate sinus tachycardia, which disappears with dose reduction.

Frequency not known – palpitations, probably related to tachycardia.

Overdose.

When taking a large amount of the drug may experience drowsiness or agitation, nausea, vomiting, sinus tachycardia.

Treatment. It is necessary to wash the stomach, monitor the ECG. Therapy is symptomatic.
