Gliutalit Composition
active substance: lithium γ-hydroglutamate;

1 capsule contains lithium γ-hydroglutaminate (in terms of 100% dry matter) – 300 mg;

excipients: potato starch, magnesium stearate;

the capsule contains: gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171).

Gliutalit Dosage form

Basic physical and chemical properties: hard gelatin capsules with a white lid and body. The contents of the capsules are white or almost white powder with a slight odor.

Pharmacological properties


Lithium ions change the transport of sodium ions in neurons, increase intracellular deamination of norepinephrine, which reduces its free amount, and increase the sensitivity of neurons to the action of dopamine. Glutamate is found in significant amounts in the brain tissue and takes part in the processes of transamination and binding of ammonia, which significantly increases the therapeutic effect of lithium ions. As a result, the drug has a pronounced normotimal effect.


The drug is well absorbed from the small intestine and evenly distributed in the body. Passes through the blood-brain barrier and the placenta, enters breast milk. It is excreted by the kidneys by filtration, 4/5 of the administered dose is reabsorbed. The half-life is approximately 24 hours. With a decrease in the intake of sodium ions into the body, an increase in the half-life of lithium is observed.


Treatment of the manic phase of bipolar affective disorders and prevention of their recurrence;
prevention of depression in patients with unipolar affective disorders.


Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
severe cardiovascular diseases with symptoms of decompensation and myocardial conduction disorders, Brugada syndrome (including family history);
dysfunction of the thyroid gland;
hyponatremia (including with a low-sodium diet, dehydration, Addison’s disease);
severe renal dysfunction, renal failure.
