For the treatment of acute and chronic recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis. For the prevention of fungal infections of the vagina with reduced resistance of the body and against the background of treatment with drugs that violate the normal microflora of the vagina.
active substance: ketoconazole;
1 pessary contains ketoconazole 400 mg;
excipients: butylhydroxyanisole, macrogol 1500, macrogol 400.
Livagyn-M belongs to antifungal drugs used topically in gynecological practice.
Ketoconazole produces a fungicidal and fungistatic effect against dermatophyte fungi, yeast (candida, cryptococci, others), higher fungi – eumycetes, as well as staphylococci and streptococci.
Fungi of the genus Aspergillus, other various fungi of the genus fucomycetes, except for the fungi entomophtralis, are less sensitive to the effects of ketoconazole.
Ketoconazole has the ability to disrupt the integrity of fungal cells by damaging their membranes. Produces inhibition of orgosterols with lanosterol.
Like other azole compounds, the antifungal effect of ketoconazole is due to its ability to inhibit cell respiration, disrupt triglyceride biosynthesis, or otherwise disrupt the cellular metabolism of fungi.
If this substance is used in high concentrations, especially with a direct physicochemical effect on fungal membranes, then the drug also has a fungicidal effect.
However, there were no cases of development of secondary resistance to ketoconazole.
Livagyn-M is intended for topical use in the treatment of infections caused by dermatophyte and / or yeast-like fungi. Effective for fungal infections resistant to fluconazole, intraconazole, terbinafine or in patients with allergies to these drugs.
In particular, it is effective in the treatment of acute and chronic mycosis of the vagina.
Also, the drug is used to prevent fungal infections of the vagina with reduced body resistance and against the background of treatment with antibacterial agents and other drugs that disrupt the normal microflora of the vagina.
The drug in question is not used if the patient has ever had hypersensitivity (allergy) to one of the components that make up its composition.
