Neoprobio is a probiotic vaginal suppository containing live cultures of lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillales. These bacteria attach to the vaginal epithelium, lowering the vaginal pH. The acid reaction resulting from this creates unfavorable conditions for the development of pathogenic bacteria, and, consequently, relapses of infection, while simultaneously creating favorable conditions for the development of lactic acid bacteria. In addition, Neoprobio contains lactose, that is, a substance vital for beneficial bacteria (prebiotic). Also, ascorbic acid lowers the pH of vaginal secretions, restoring the optimal environment for the development of lactic acid bacteria, and folic acid has a positive effect on the restoration of the vaginal epithelium.
