This drug Oflocain belongs to the group of combined topical antibacterial drugs used to treat purulent wounds, on a hydrophilic, water-soluble basis.
The effect of the application is due to the properties of the main active ingredients – lidocaine, ofloxacin.
Oflocain has a bactericidal effect due to its ability to stabilize bacterial DNA chains. Produces a broad spectrum antimicrobial effect, but mostly gram-negative, aerobic, anaerobic, fungal monocultures and microbial associations. Shows an effect on strains that are resistant to antibiotics and sulfonamides.
Lidocaine has such a mechanism of action, due to which it has the ability to block sodium channels. Such properties make it possible to stabilize the neuronal membrane, helping to reduce its permeability, and arresting the ability to conduct impulses. As a result, it has a quick analgesic effect.
Due to the fact that the preparation contains several active components, they complement each other, produce an increased effect from its use.

In the treatment of purulent wounds, the ointment is used once a day, in the treatment of burns – daily or 2-3 times a week, depending on the intensity of purulent discharge.
The positive dynamics of treatment is determined by the attending physician, depending on the dynamics of cleansing the wound from purulent exudate and the timing of the relief of the inflammatory process.
