You should pay attention to the fact that decamethoxin, which is part of the drug, has the property of increasing the antibiotic resistance (resistance) of microorganisms to antibiotics.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
There is no data on the complete safety of use in pregnant women, since clinical trials are not carried out on this group of patients.
Method of administration and dosage
Oftalmodek is used to treat eye damage. For this purpose, it is necessary to instill 2-3 drops into each conjunctival sac 4-6 times a day, until complete recovery.
As a prophylactic agent for neonatal blennorrhea – 2 drops of the drug immediately after birth and 2 hours after birth.
For preoperative prophylaxis, 2-3 drops are used 4-6 times a day a day before the surgical procedure and within 3-5 days after it.
Contact lenses are immersed in the solution for 10-15 minutes, and then rinsed in sterile sodium chloride solution (0.9%).
Overdose cases have not been reported at the moment and are not described in the medical literature. The reason may be that this drug has no systemic absorption, since it does not enter the systemic circulation when used externally.
In case of accidental swallowing, you should rinse the stomach, induce vomiting, take sorbents, and carry out symptomatic treatment.
The specific antidote is unknown.
Usually the use of this drug is well tolerated by patients. However, in rare cases, people with hypersensitivity to the drug may experience redness of the eyes, a burning sensation, and local irritation.
