This pharmaceutical product Omnik belongs to a group of drugs that are used to treat prostate diseases (benign hyperplasia).
The main active ingredient of the drug is tamsulosin. It is a selective and competitive blocker of postsynaptic alpha-1 – adrenergic receptors, which are located inside the smooth muscles of the prostate. They are also found in the bladder neck, the part of the urethra that is part of the prostate.
As a result, the tone of smooth muscles in the prostate, neck in the bladder, urethra decreases, and urine outflow improves.
The symptoms caused by prostatic hyperplasia are reduced – the urge to urinate, including at night, the difficulty of this process, irritation and inflammation.
