Inflammation of the infectious nature of the pelvic organs, including prevention after surgery and abortion; infections of the urinary tract and kidneys (pyelonephritis, prostatitis, urethritis, cystitis, epididymitis); sexually transmitted infections (chlamydia, gonorrhea, mycoplasmosis, trichomoniasis); respiratory tract infections (for example, exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute bronchitis, pneumonia); infections of the ENT organs (otitis media, sinusitis, mastoiditis); infections of the eyes, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, biliary tract, abdominal cavity and bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract; peritonitis, amebiasis, giardiasis, sepsis.
The active components of this agent: ciprofloxacin and ornidazole, 500 mg in one tablet, as well as additional substances: corn starch, povidone, sodium starch, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, talc hypromellose, iron oxide yellow, titanium dioxide, propylene glycol.
Orcipol is produced in the form of yellow or pale yellow film-coated capsule-like tablets, which are embossed with “ORCP” on one side and at risk on the other.
One blister with 10 tablets is packed in a cardboard box.
Orcipol belongs to the group of combined antimicrobial drugs that are used for infections of various origins.
The action of the drug leads to the rapid death of a number of bacteria, both in the state of growth and at rest.
Orcipol is used and prescribed for infections of various origins caused by strains sensitive to the active substances of the drug:

- respiratory tract infections (for example, exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute bronchitis, pneumonia);
- infections of the ENT organs (otitis media, sinusitis, mastoiditis);
- infections of the eyes, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, biliary tract, abdominal cavity and bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract;
- peritonitis, amebiasis, giardiasis, sepsis.
The use of the drug is contraindicated in epilepsy, uncompensated hypokalemia, multiple sclerosis, pathological blood lesions or other hematological anomalies, after a stroke, traumatic brain injury, inflammation in the brain and meninges. And also when taken simultaneously with tizanidine, drugs of class IA or class III, in patients with individual intolerance to the components of this drug.
It is used in pediatrics for children over 15 years old.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
It is possible to use the drug for women during pregnancy if, in the opinion of the attending physician, the intended benefit to the mother is significantly higher than the potential risk to the fetus. The drug is contraindicated for lactating women.
Method of administration and dosage
Orcipol is intended for oral administration, take tablets before meals or after meals after 2 hours.
The recommended dose is 1 tablet 2 times a day.
The duration of therapy depends on the severity of the disease, in acute infections the course of treatment is 5-7 days, in chronic recurrent infections – 10-14 days.
After eliminating the signs of the disease, it is necessary to continue taking the pills for another 2-3 days.
In case of impaired renal function, if creatine clearance is less than 30 ml / min, the recommended daily dose is 1 tablet once.
Intoxication with the drug is characterized by the following symptoms: dizziness, headache, tremors, fatigue, hallucinations, convulsions, confusion, renal and hepatic failure, abdominal discomfort, as well as possible crystalluria and hematuria.
If signs of overdose appear, symptomatic treatment should be carried out.
The use of the drug can cause the following side effects: nausea, diarrhea and vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache and migraine, sleep disorders, leukopenia, eosinophilia, neutropenia, leukocytosis, anemia, thrombocytopenia, changes in platelet count, agranulocytosis. Also possible manifestations: allergic reactions, candidiasis, photosensitivity, asthenia, hyperbilirubinemia, pancreatitis, dysesthesia, hepatitis, hypesthesia. When taking the tablets, negative reactions may occur such as: tremors, impaired gait and coordination, seizures, impaired kidney and liver function, loss of taste and smell, loss or impairment of hearing, ringing in the ears, fever, swelling, excessive sweating.
