Composition and form of release
Regydron is produced in the form of a powder that contains sodium chloride, sodium citrate, potassium chloride, dextrose.

Regydron is used in cases when it is necessary to quickly restore the water-electrolyte balance in the body.

It is used for:

  • correction of acidosis that occurs against the background of acute diarrhea;
  • heat damage that has arisen against the background of water-electrolyte metabolism;
  • prevention of violations of water and electrolyte balance during intense heat and physical stress, leading to increased sweating.

Regydron is not prescribed to patients who have impaired renal function, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, unconsciousness, intestinal obstruction and hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Use during pregnancy and lactation
Regydron can be used in the therapy of pregnant and lactating women in the doses recommended by the doctor.

Method of administration and dosage
Before use, one package of Regydron is dissolved in 1 liter of water. It is recommended to store the prepared solution in a refrigerator at a temperature not higher than +8 and not lower than + 2 ° С. After preparation, the solution must be used within 24 hours. Before starting treatment, the patient should be weighed, as this will help establish the degree of dehydration.
When carrying out oral rehydration, the patient should reduce the intake of food rich in simple carbohydrates and fats. To prevent the development of dehydration, the intake of Regidron is started immediately after the onset of diarrhea. The duration of the drug intake is from 3 to 4 days. Treatment with Regydron is discontinued immediately after the end of the diarrhea.
To prevent dehydration, Regydron should be taken at the first symptoms of diarrhea. Usually the drug is used for no more than 3 or 4 days. The drug is discontinued after the end of the diarrhea.
When treating vomiting or nausea, it is desirable that the patient receive the cooled solution in small portions. For rehydration, the patient must receive the drug in doses that are twice the weight loss caused by diarrhea.

When taking Regydron in high doses, there is a high probability that the patient will develop hypernatremia or hyperkalemia, accompanied by the development of weakness, confusion, increased drowsiness, arrhythmias and respiratory arrest.
With a deterioration in glomerular filtration, metabolic alkalosis may develop, which is characterized by the occurrence of seizures, a decrease in muscle tone, and a decrease in lung ventilation.
If the patient reveals signs of an overdose, the administration of the drug is stopped and the patient is corrected for the electrolyte imbalance.

Side effects
Subject to all the rules for using Rehydron, patients do not experience any side effects.

Storage conditions and periods
