Available in powder form for oral solution, weighing 18.9 grams.

Pharmacological properties
This drug Regysol belongs to a group of pharmaceuticals – combinations of salt formulations that are recommended for use as an oral rehydration agent.
The main active ingredients are sodium and potassium chloride, sodium citrate and glucose. It has a slightly alkaline reaction.
This solution is made in full accordance with what is recommended for use in case of intoxication and subsequent dehydration of the body by the World Health Organization.
A saline solution is prepared from the drug in question, which is customarily used in order to correct the loss of electrolytes lost during diarrhea, as well as fluid.
Due to the presence of glucose, the absorption of taken sodium and potassium salts increases, and the citrates in the composition help to correct the balance, which is especially important in cases where the patient has metabolic acidosis.

This drug Regysol is used in the period after diarrhea of moderate to mild dehydration, in order to restore the water and electrolyte balance in the body, to correct acidosis.
It can also be used for thermal injuries, in which water-electrolyte imbalance is also observed.
They are also used as a prophylaxis against heat and physical exertion that cause intense sweating.

The drug in question is contraindicated for use in cases where the patient has severe hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main or one of the auxiliary components.
Also contraindicated for:

  • severe dehydration;
  • ileuse;
  • loss of consciousness;
  • hemodynamic shock;
  • intestinal obstruction;
  • indomitable vomiting.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
This drug should not be used when treating pregnant women.
If it is necessary to take the drug during breastfeeding, lactation is suspended.

Method of administration and dosage
The drug Regysol is intended for the preparation of oral solution. To do this, 1 sachet of the drug is dissolved in half a liter of water at room temperature. Sugar should not be added to the solution (increases diarrhea).
It is taken either independently, in small sips (large doses can provoke vomiting) or, in difficult cases, through a tube, under the supervision of a doctor.
The dosage is calculated based on the degree of dehydration – usually it is from 50 to 100 ml of the drug per 1 kg of the patient’s weight. The duration of treatment is up to 4 hours. Longer use is also possible if the diarrhea continues, but no more than 3-4 days.
In particular, with a weight of 5 kg, take from 200 to 400 ml of the drug, with a weight of 11 to 16 kg – from 800 to 1200 ml, with a weight of more than 30 kg – take 2.2-4 liters of solution.
Do not eat after taking this drug.
If the patient is vomiting, then after the next attack, you should wait for 10 minutes, and only then take the drug.
With a severe degree of rehydration (weight loss in children of 9% or more, anuria, including in adults), intravenous drugs are used for rehydration. Oral saline solutions can then be used.

Overdose can cause hypernatremia or hyperkalemia.
Metabolic alkalosis can also occur with impaired renal function.
An overdose manifests itself in the form of symptoms:

  • weakness;
  • neuromuscular arousal;
  • drowsiness, confusion;
  • seizures;
  • coma, respiratory arrest.

In case of an overdose, the drug is discontinued. A doctor should be consulted to correct fluid and electrolyte balance.

Side effects
Usually, if the dose is not exceeded, then side effects do not occur. In some cases, side effects are possible in the form of:

  • allergic reactions – itching, rash, allergic urticaria;
  • vomiting (a consequence of taking the drug too quickly or in the form of too large doses).
