Roztiran Composition and form of release
The main active ingredients (in brackets – quantity per gram of the drug): menthol (30.5 mg), camphor (52.5 mg), thymol (1 mg), fir oil (0.0555 ml), eucalyptus oil ( 0.015 ml), nutmeg oil (0.0055 ml).
Auxiliary components: paraffin.
It is produced and sold as an ointment in 25 gram vials.

Pharmacological properties
This drug is included in the group of complex herbal preparations used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, colds, characterized by cough. In addition, the drug is used in orthopedics, for muscle and joint pain.
The main active ingredients are eucalyptus, fir, nutmeg oil, as well as menthol, camphor, thymol.
Vapors of the drug, when it enters the respiratory tract, produces a secretolytic effect, facilitating the discharge of sputum. Reduces nasal congestion, makes breathing easier. Camphor produces a local irritant effect, increasing blood flow to the site of application.
Eucalyptus oil and has a mild antispasmodic effect, helps to cough up the secreted mucus. Together with fir, scrapping produces an antitussive effect. Eucalyptus is effective against a wide range of pathological microorganisms, as well as mycoses. It has the ability to suppress the multiplication of staphylococcus, tuberculosis and other pathogens.
In general, the essential oils contained in the preparation soften the mucous membranes upon contact, making breathing easier, disinfecting and relieving inflammation.

Roztiran Indications
This drug is used in the complex symptomatic treatment of acute respiratory diseases, colds, runny nose, headache, dizziness, nausea.
Also used for neuralgia, myalgia, lumbago, rheumatism, radiculitis.

The drug in question is contraindicated for use in cases where the patient has severe hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main or to one of the auxiliary components.
Use is contraindicated in:

  • bronchial asthma, whooping cough, false croup, other diseases with increased sensitivity of the respiratory tract;
  • epilepsy, tendency to seizures;
  • open wounds, burns, damage to the skin at the site of application;
  • rashes (especially in children with childhood diseases), dermatitis.

In pediatrics, it is used from 3 years old – for rubbing.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
This drug is not recommended for pregnant women – only for strict indications determined by the attending physician.
If it is necessary to take the drug during breastfeeding, lactation is suspended.

Method of administration and dosage
The drug is used externally for rubbing the chest or skin over sore joints, muscles (without dilution, 2-4 times a day).
Children 3-6 years old should only rub the chest and back. Do not apply the drug to small children on the wings of the nose or face.
For a headache, rub the temples.
If symptoms do not improve within 4-5 days or worsen, in case of shortness of breath, fever, mucus, or blood, see a doctor.
The faster you start using the drug at the first signs of illness, the better the result will be.

If accidentally swallowed, you may experience:

  • nausea;
  • abdominal pain;
  • vomiting, diarrhea;
  • disorders of the nervous system – ataxia, seizures, hot flashes.

In this case, the symptoms should be treated – rinse the stomach, take enterosorbents. Wash off the ointment with warm water, lubricate with a soothing cream.

Side effects
The drug is usually well tolerated when used in the recommended doses.
Allergy may occur in case of individual intolerance. In particular, it can be observed:

  • allergic reactions – itching, allergic urticaria, rash;
  • shortness of breath, cough, asthma attack (asthma), bronchospasm, angioedema, Quincke’s edema, respiratory arrest;
  • nausea, vomiting, diarrhea;
  • irritation of the mucous membranes when the drug gets on them.

If side effects appear, you should interrupt treatment and contact your doctor for help and changes in the treatment process.

Expiration date – up to 3 years from the production date indicated on the package. Storage periods should not be exceeded.
The storage temperature should not exceed 25 ° C.
