Description

Salicylic acid Composition and form of release
The active ingredient is salicylic acid, excipients. It is produced in the form of an ointment, packaged in glass jars or aluminum tubes, at a dosage of 10 percent.

Salicylic acid Indications
The drug, applied externally, of local action, has keratolytic, local irritating, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used in the treatment of burns, infectious and inflammatory skin lesions, acne, psoriasis, warts, eczema, oily seborrhea, corns, pityriasis versicolor, ichthyosis, dyskeratosis, and scalp lichen.

Contraindications
Not applicable if the patient has an allergic reaction to salicylic acid.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
There is no complete confidence in the safety of this drug in pregnant women.

Method of administration and dosage
Before applying the ointment, the wound must be treated with an antiseptic, before removing the necrotic tissue. Spread 2-3 times a day.
When processing corns, keratinized tissues, a 10% dosage of the drug is used. In other cases, the 2 percent option is usually used.
The applied ointment can be covered with a sterile dressing, or a dressing soaked in this drug.
The treatment lasts from a week to 20 days. Usually during this time, the drug exerts its therapeutic effect.

Overdose
Overdose cases with external use were not observed. In case of accidental ingestion of the esophagus, the drug causes a burning sensation, pain in the esophagus and stomach, vomiting with blood impurities. The nervous system reacts with impaired vision, hearing, weakness. Symptoms are relieved by gastric lavage, drinking plenty of fluids, and forced diuresis.

Side effects
Occasionally, symptoms of a local irritating reaction were observed, such as itching, burning, skin rash, excessive dryness of the skin, irritation, contact dermatitis, urticaria.
