Description

Composition and form of release
The main active ingredients are dexpanthenol and xylometazoline hydrochloride. It also contains auxiliary components, including potassium dihydrogen phosphate, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, purified water, etc.
It is produced in the form of a solution for nasal administration, poured into vials with a removable or fixed spray nozzle, 10 ml each, with 1 gram of solution containing 1 mg of xylometazoline and 50 mg of dexpanthenol.
One spray allows you to inject 1 ml of the medicinal solution into one of the sinuses.
Pharmacological properties
Combined rhinological drug (nasal drops), which belongs to antimicrobial and antiseptic agents for local use.
Consists of a combination of two active ingredients – dexpanthenol (provitamin B5) and xylometazoline.
Once in the skin cells, it quickly turns into pantothenic acid, which is a component of coenzyme, playing an important role in the metabolism of each cell. Pantothenic acid is therefore essential for the protection, formation and healing of damaged skin and mucous membranes.
Xylometazoline produces a vasoconstrictor effect, as a result of which the swelling of the nasal mucosa is eliminated.
Indications
It is intended for the treatment of various lesions of the skin and mucous membranes, including:

  • nasal congestion during coryza;
  • promoting healing of the skin around the nasal passages and disorders of the mucous membrane in the nasal cavity;
  • vasomotor rhinitis;
  • disturbances in nasal breathing after surgical interventions in the nasal cavity.

Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid. It has the ability to regenerate mucous membranes, normalize cell metabolism, accelerate mitosis and strengthen collagen fibers. It has a regenerating, vitaminizing and anti-inflammatory effect.
The body’s need for pantothenic acid increases with damage to the skin or tissues. This deficiency can be compensated for with the help of topical application of dexpanthenol, since this substance has the property of intensively penetrating all layers of the skin.
Xylometazoline hydrochloride, an imidazole derivative, is an alpha-adrenergic sympathomimetic. It has an effect in 5-10 minutes, the manifestation of which is the relief of nasal breathing and improved excretion of secretions.
Contraindications
Not applicable if the patient has hypersensitivity (allergy) to one of the components of the drug.
It is also contraindicated for use if the patient has dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa, acute coronary diseases, including cardiac asthma, hyperthyroidism, angle-closure glaucoma, a history of surgery with exposure of the meninges.
Also, they are not used with concomitant treatment with MAO inhibitors and within two weeks after the end of therapy with this drug.
