Composition and form of release
Sinaflan is an ointment in tubes. The main component of the drug is fluocinolone acetonide.
Sinaflan is used in the treatment of skin lesions requiring treatment with glucocorticosteroids, such as:
- seborrhea of the skin;
- discoid lupus erythematosus;
- lichen planus;
- eczema of various localization;
- allergic skin diseases and itching of various origins;
- first degree thermal burns;
- insect bites.
Sinaflan is not used if the patient has an intolerance to fluocinolone acetonide, infectious skin lesions of various origins. It is unacceptable to apply the drug to skin areas on which there is an ulcerative lesion or open wounds.
Sinaflan is not used in the treatment of pregnant women and patients with tuberculous skin lesions.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Sinaflan disrupts the adrenal glands and has a negative impact on the development of the fetus, which does not allow its use in the therapy of pregnant women. Its appointment to the pregnant is justified only if the expected benefit from the use of the drug significantly outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
The drug is prescribed with extreme caution during lactation. If long-term treatment with Sinaflan in high doses is planned, then the woman should stop breastfeeding.
Method of administration and dosage
If there are no other recommendations, then Sinaflan is applied to the affected area of the skin from one to three times a day. The ointment should be applied to the affected area of the skin with light massage movements until the drug is completely absorbed. The duration of treatment is from 5 to 10 days, if necessary, a course of treatment up to 25 days is possible. It is not recommended to apply the ointment to large areas of the skin; also, the drug should not be applied to the face and skin folds.
With local application of Sinaflan, overdose is impossible. In case of accidental ingestion of the drug inside, it is recommended that the patient quickly rinse the stomach, ensure the intake of abundant drink, activated charcoal and saline laxatives, which will facilitate the fastest possible elimination of the drug from the patient’s body.
With prolonged use of Sinaflan, some patients experience atrophy of the skin, the flesh to necrosis. With prolonged application of the drug to areas of the skin with increased sensitivity, the patient may develop adrenal hypofunction.
If in the process of using the ointment any unusual symptoms have arisen, then it is recommended to immediately inform the doctor about them.
Storage conditions and periods
Sinaflan should be stored in a cool place out of the reach of children. The storage term for the ointment is 2 years. It is strictly forbidden to apply the ointment after the expiration date, since the use of medicines with an expired shelf life can have a negative effect on human health.
