This drug belongs to a group of drugs used in gastroenterology as a laxative.
The main active ingredient of the drug is sodium picosulfate. This substance, which has laxative properties, belongs to the triarylmethane group.
Due to the metabolic processes that occur after the drug enters the body in the large intestine, due to its action, the absorption of fluids is slowed down, and the production of water and the release of electrolytes also increases.
As a result, stool softening occurs, which also increases their volume, and produces additional stimulation of peristalsis in the intestine.
Sodium picosulfate has a low absorption, little absorbed when it enters the intestine. Some partial absorption occurs only after the bacterial breakdown of the substance occurs. Absorption occurs when the drug enters the colon, then conjugation occurs and then the drug is excreted with the help of the intestine along with the secreted bile.
This drug is used to treat:
- other conditions requiring easier bowel movement (bowel movements).

It is recommended to start with the lowest dose. The dose can be adjusted to the maximum recommended dose for regular bowel movements. The maximum daily dose of 20 drops (for adults) or 10 drops (for children 4 years of age and older) should not be exceeded.
