Composition and form of release
Tablets containing 10 mg of scopolamine butyl bromide, packaged in blisters of 10 pcs, packed in a cardboard box of 2 blisters.
1 tablet of Spazmobru contains 10 mg of scopolamine butyl bromide and excipients: lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, sodium starch glycolate.
The main active ingredient in the composition of the drug Spazmobru is scopolamine or hyoscine butyl bromide, which acts as a competitive antagonist of acetylcholine in the nerve endings of the parasympathetic ganglia. In terms of pharmacological properties, it is close to atropine. The drug predominantly affects the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, the effect is associated with the blockade of M-cholinergic receptors. Does not affect nicotinic receptors. In the usual therapeutic dose, it has no effect on the central nervous system, the secretion of the salivary and sweat glands, the ability to accommodate, does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier.
Spasmobru is poorly absorbed in the intestine, but a local high concentration is created in the areas of drug action. The metabolism of the drug occurs mainly in the liver, is excreted from the body with bile and urine, most of it unchanged.
Indications for use
The drug is used for various spasms of the gastrointestinal tract, including pylorospasm, spastic constipation and colitis, hypertensive dyskinesia of the biliary and pancreatic ducts, cholelithiasis and urolithiasis with the development of hepatic and renal colic, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, for ulcer therapy stomach and duodenum.
The use of Spazmobryu is indicated for relieving attacks of nausea and vomiting, relieving urinary tract spasms. In obstetrics and gynecology, the drug is used to treat algodismenorrhea, relieve spasms of the uterus and fallopian tubes during hysterosalpingography and to coordinate labor.
Spasmobrus is used as a drug for premedication before surgery, as well as during preparation for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for the differential diagnosis of spasms and volumetric neoplasms.
As an antidote therapy, the drug is used for poisoning with organophosphates.
Mode of application
The dose of the drug is set individually, taking into account the severity of the disease and the age of the patient.
Adults Spazmobru in tablets for oral administration are prescribed 10 mg up to 5 times a day. The daily dose of the drug should not exceed 100 mg.
For children over 6 years old, the drug is prescribed at the rate of 0.3-0.6 mg / kg of body weight per day. The daily dose of the drug should not exceed 1.5 mg / kg of body weight.
The daily dose should not exceed 100 mg.
On the part of the gastrointestinal tract, dry mouth, impaired intestinal motor function with the development of atonic constipation may occur.
On the part of vision, in rare cases, an increase in light sensitivity, visual impairments associated with paresis of accommodation, exacerbation of glaucoma symptoms can develop.
Other side effects include increased dryness of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and skin, insufficient sweating, the development of tachyarrhythmias, impaired urination, the development of allergic reactions.
The use of Spasmobrus is contraindicated in case of individual hypersensitivity to the individual components of the drug, the patient has glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy with a history of urinary retention, mechanical intestinal obstruction, myasthenia gravis, tachyarrhythmias and megacolon.
The appointment of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is indicated only if the expected benefit of treatment for the mother is exceeded, the risk to the fetus.
Interaction with other medicinal products:
The simultaneous use of Spasmobrus with tricyclic antidepressants, antihistamines and quinidine potentiates their anticholinergic action. With the combined use of Spasmobrus and dopamine receptor antagonists, a decrease in the effectiveness of both drugs is observed.
The appearance of tachycardia is possible with the simultaneous use of scopolamine with beta-adrenergic receptor stimulants. Interaction with antacids, antidiarrheal drugs containing kaolin or attapulgit, as well as ketonazole and metoclopramide is accompanied by a weakening of the anticholinergic effect.
Symptoms of an overdose of the drug include the appearance of dilated pupils with a decrease or lack of reaction to light, dry mucous membranes, a hoarse voice, as well as an increase in heart rate, an increase in temperature to subfebrile numbers.
When these symptoms appear after taking the drug inside, gastric lavage, the use of enterosorbents and magnesium sulfate are indicated.
In case of an overdose of the drug by parenteral administration, forced diuresis, subcutaneous physostigmine or galantamine, and symptomatic treatment are necessary. If indicated, bladder catheterization is indicated, with glaucoma – administration of pilocarpine.
