active substance: sulfonamide;
1 g of ointment contains sulfanilamide 50 mg (0.05 g);
Excipient: white soft paraffin.

Pharmacological properties
The drug Streptocide ointment has antimicrobial effects on streptococci and other microorganisms. Streptocide disrupts the process of assimilation by the microbial cell of its growth factors – folic acid and similar substances that contain paraaminobenzoic acid (PABX), ie due to the similarity of the structure of PABX and sulfonamide, the latter is a competitive antagonist of acid at the level of biochemical systems.

Ulcers, burns, cracks, wounds, pyoderma, skin erysipelas, purulent-inflammatory processes of the skin, which are not accompanied by severe exudation.

Contraindication
The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug or to any other sulfonamide drugs, in renal failure, acute porphyria, as well as during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Children
Safety and effectiveness of the drug in children have not been established, so the use of the drug in children is not recommended.

Method of application and dosage
