Description

Composition and form of release
The preparation contains two active ingredients – precipitated sulfur and a consistent emulsion consisting of water and petroleum jelly.
Indications
Antiseptic for external use. This ointment is intended for the treatment of skin diseases – acne (inflammation of the sebaceous glands), acne (inflammation in the sebaceous glands due to blockage, increased secretion of fat and infection in the gland), seborrhea (increased sebum secretion in the hair growth zone), mycosis (fungal skin diseases), psoriasis (chronic dermatosis of non-infectious origin), scabs, sycosis (inflammation of hair follicles when staphylococci get in, usually has a chronic recurrent form), others.
It has a disinfecting, antimicrobial and antiparasitic effect due to its high sulfur concentration. Sulfur, in turn, interacts with organic substances, thereby creating sulfides, as well as pentathionic acid, which also have antiseptic properties.
Contraindications
Do not use for the treatment of children until they reach the age of 3, as well as when an allergic reaction to one of the components of the drug is detected.
Avoid contact with oxidizing agents (hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate) on the ointment applied to the skin. their interaction causes chemical burns. Due to the possibility of unforeseen reactions, the interaction of the drug applied to the skin with any other chemical substances should be avoided.
Do not allow the ointment to get on the mucous membranes, primarily the eyes. Wash your hands thoroughly after application.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
The safety and clinical efficacy of this drug during pregnancy and lactation have not been studied. For this reason, the ointment during this period of a woman’s life can be used only in extreme cases. The risks of prescribing and the decision on the use are borne by the attending physician.
Method of administration and dosage
It is applied to the surface of the skin from 2 to 3 times a day, directly to the focus of the disease, capturing 1-1.5 cm of the edges of healthy skin along the perimeter of the affected integument. The duration of the course of treatment depends on the effectiveness of the impact on the lesion and the individual response of the body to the drug.
Overdose
When used externally, sulfur and petroleum jelly preparations, which form the basis of the drug, are not absorbed in the systemic circulation, respectively, do not affect the work of the internal organs and human systems.
Side effects
In rare cases, individual hypersensitivity reactions are possible. In this case, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
