Description

Composition and form of release
Tantum Rose is made in the form of a vaginal solution and powder for the preparation of a vaginal solution. The active ingredient is benzydamine hydrochloride.
Indications
Tantum Rose is used in the treatment of vaginosis caused by bacterial infection, vulvovaginitis of a specific nature, vulvovaginitis of a nonspecific nature, inflammatory gynecological diseases associated with radiotherapy or chemotherapeutic treatment. In addition, the drug is prescribed for the treatment of cervicovaginitis of various origins, for the prevention of the development of infectious and inflammatory lesions after surgery and for hygiene procedures after childbirth.
Contraindications
The use of Tantum Rose is contraindicated in the treatment of patients under 12 years of age and intolerance to the components of the drug.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Tantum Rose can be used in the therapy of pregnant women, however, due to the lack of sufficient information about the features of the effect of the drug on the development of the fetus, its appointment to patients at this stage is carried out only as a last resort.
In the treatment of women at the lactation stage, the use of Tantum Rose is possible only after consulting a doctor.
Method of administration and dosage
Tantum Rose is intended for intravaginal use. Before use, the preparation in powder form is recommended to be dissolved in 0.5 liters of pure water, after which the resulting solution is used in the same way as the finished preparation. One douching consumes about 140 ml of the finished solution.
When using a solution in a bottle for one douching, it is recommended to use one bottle. The introduction of the drug must be carried out in the supine position, which will keep the solution in the vagina for several minutes.
In the treatment of various diseases, an individual therapy regimen is used. In the treatment of bacterial vaginosis, vaginal irrigation is carried out from 1 to 2 times a day for 7 or 10 days. In the treatment of nonspecific vulvovaginitis and cervicovaginitis of various etiologies, as well as specific vulvovaginitis, the drug is prescribed 2 times a day for 10 days. In the postpartum period, as a hygienic agent and to prevent the development of inflammatory and infectious lesions in the pre- and postoperative periods, the solution is used once a day for 3 or 5 days.
Overdose
Due to the fact that the Tantum Rose solution is intended for local use and is characterized by low adsorption, an overdose is impossible when using it. In case of accidental oral administration of the drug, the patient should immediately rinse the stomach and prescribe the use of enerosorbents.
Side effects
When used for therapeutic or prophylactic purposes, Tantum Rose sometimes develops allergic reactions, increased dryness of the mucous membranes of the genital organs, as well as itching, hyperemia and irritation of the vaginal mucosa.
Storage conditions and periods
Tantum Rose should be stored in places that are not accessible to children and protected from light penetration. The shelf life of the drug from the date of manufacture is not more than 5 years.
