Composition and form of release
The main active ingredients: boric acid, sodium tetraborate, salicylic acid, zinc oxide, hexamethylenetetramine, formaldehyde solution, lead acetate, peppermint oil.
Excipients: purified water, emulsifier No. 1, talc, glycerin.
It is produced in the form of a paste, in tubes of 25 grams. 1 gram of paste contains 0.07 g of boric acid, 0.07 g of sodium tetraborate, 0.014 g of salicylic acid, 0.25 g of zinc oxide, 0.035 g of hexamethylenetetramine, 0.035 g of formaldehyde solution, 0.003 g of lead acetate, 003 g of mint oil pepper.
This drug belongs to a group of drugs with a softening and protective effect used in dermatology and pediatrics in the treatment of skin conditions characterized by severe dryness.
Among the active ingredients are zinc oxide, boric and salicylic acid, peppermint oil, and others. This drug produces anti-inflammatory, drying, absorbent, astringent and antiseptic effects.
Local application of zinc oxide helps to reduce drying of the skin, the severity of inflammatory processes, relieves irritation and softens the skin.
The presence of fish oil as an auxiliary component causes the formation of a thin protective fatty film. This protective layer protects the skin from components that can irritate the skin and trigger rashes. Also, the drug protects the dermis from excess moisture.
Peppermint oil helps to cool and dilate blood vessels, and acetylsalicylic acid – antimicrobial and keratoplastic effect.
The drug is used in order to carry out prophylaxis or treatment for excessive dryness of the skin that occurs when:
- mycoses of the feet;
- diaper rash;
- excessive sweating.
The drug in question is contraindicated for use in cases where the patient has severe hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main or one of the auxiliary components.
Also, use is contraindicated for:
- acute purulent-inflammatory diseases of the skin and adjacent tissues, purulent eruptions;
- chronic kidney disease;
- damage to the skin at the site of application;
- bronchial asthma.
Do not allow the drug to come into contact with the eyes or open wounds.
In pediatrics, it can be used from the age of 14.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
This medication is not intended for use in pregnant or lactating women.
Method of administration and dosage
For prevention, the paste is applied in a thin layer to clean and dry skin.
For the purpose, the paste is applied to the skin with a thin layer 2-3 times a day when the first signs of hyperemia (skin redness) or minor skin irritation appear.
It is undesirable to apply to more areas of the skin.
The duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease, the effect of the drug.
The patient should consult a doctor if the symptoms of the disease did not disappear during the use of the drug within seven days or if there are adverse reactions that are not specified in the instructions for medical use of the drug.
Overdose with external use is impossible.
If accidentally swallowed, an overdose may cause:
- vomiting, diarrhea;
- stimulation of the nervous system, convulsions.
In this case, you should rinse the stomach, take enterosorbents, consult a doctor.
The drug is usually well tolerated. In rare cases of hypersensitivity, adverse reactions may occur. In this case, such reactions are possible as:
- contact dermatitis, itching, erythema at the site of application, peeling, burns;
- dyspeptic disorders (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea);
- bronchospasm, angioneurotic edema;
- allergic reactions, rash, itching, allergic urticaria;
- irritation of the mucous membranes of the eyes, conjunctivitis when the drug gets into the eyes.
If side effects occur, the drug should be discontinued, symptomatic therapy should be undertaken, consult a doctor and the treatment regimen should be adjusted.
Storage conditions and periods
Expiration date – 1.5 years from the production date indicated on the package.
The storage temperature should not be below 2 and above 8 ° C.
