Composition and form of release
Oral drops. The preparation contains extract of Dauci carotae fructus, Orthosiphonis staminei folia, Polygoni avicularis herba, Zeae maydis styli cum stigmatis, Sambuci nigrae flores, Equiseti herba, Lupuli flos, Betulae gemmae, Hyperici herba, Menthae piperitae folia.
Pharmacological properties
A herbal preparation, the active substances of which reduce the severity of inflammatory processes, improve blood supply to the liver and kidneys, have a choleretic, diuretic, bactericidal effect, in addition, they reduce the tone of the smooth muscles of the upper urinary tract and gallbladder. Quickly penetrating into the bloodstream, the ingredients of the drops improve renal and hepatic blood flow, stimulate urine and bile secretion. The drug enhances diuresis, promotes the excretion of urea, uric acid and chloride.
Indications
Drops are used in the treatment of chronic and acute diseases of the kidneys and urinary bladder, such as cystitis, urethritis, nephrosis, pyelocystitis, nephritis, salt diathesis and pyelonephritis. In addition, the drug is used in the treatment of urolithiasis and gallstone disease, acute and subacute calculous pyelonephritis and cholecystitis. The drug can be used as an additional agent in the complex treatment of biliary dyskinesia.
Contraindications
Drops are not used in the treatment of patients with obstructive jaundice. The appointment of the drug is contraindicated if the patient suffers from intolerance to its components, it is not used in the treatment of children under 12 years of age, pregnant and lactating women.
Care should be taken to prescribe drops to patients who suffer from gastroesophageal reflux, since the likelihood of increased heartburn is high.
The drug is not prescribed if the diameter of the calculi is more than 3 mm.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Uroholum, if there are no other contraindications, can be used in the therapy of nursing and pregnant women.
Method of administration and dosage
Before using drops, you should consult with your doctor about their effectiveness and safety for each individual patient.
Children who are 12 years old and adults take the drug three times a day, 10 or 20 drops before meals. It is recommended to dilute the drops in a small amount of water before using.
The duration of treatment can vary from 5 days to 1 month and depends on the severity of the symptoms of the disease and the nature of the concomitant treatment. By decision of the doctor, an increase in the course of treatment is possible.
Overdose
When taking drops in higher doses, an increased formation of side effects is possible.
To improve the patient’s condition, gastric lavage should be performed, enterosorbent drugs, abundant warm drinks and symptomatic treatment should be provided.
Side effects
The use of drops can cause the development of local allergic reactions, manifested by skin rashes, hyperemia, irritation and edema.
Storage conditions and periods
Uroholum should be stored in dry, dark places out of the reach of small children. Duration of storage of the drug is 3 years.
